Of course, this is personal opinion, but I think, that this track is the best track of all, that we saw in BNR TRAX series. Before starting Marble, Para One did this track (by the way, at 23th of last December...but all charts were made already) for Boysnoize Records...and it came as on of the best tracks on that label. For Para One, Surkin & Bobmo 2011 was a very productive year. After death of Institubes, they launched new bomb, called Marble, and started to make one huge release after another. That's one of the reasons, why Marble for us is one of the best France-based labels (only kid of Teki Latex and crew, Sound Pellegrino, I think, can beat them...in a very hard fight). This track was their first release, it was very strange for listen, but, time after time, and you starting to like it) Press Play.

That was a little long period without my posts here...now I know why - I was waiting for a bomb like this...New L-Vis 1990's album and, especially, this track just made my day with it's sound between Breakbot's and Night Slugs'. Enjoy it. 

Das Glow & Para One - Pulsar / Freeze EP (preview)

« Pulsar » is straightforward business : starting with commanding, crashing beats, the track is all about fresh shimmering chords and typical Para One-esque warm humanoid vocals. The beat gets busier and busier, just enough to transform this apparently pedestrian track into a peak-time, yet laidback monster. Craftsmanly-made futuristic boogie. « Freeze » is a sleazy and dirty tune based on a sluggish groove and goofy, noisy tricks going around the beat. The bass comes in to regulate things up but quickly gets troubled by the claustrophobic environment. A slow-burning, mock-horror house fantasy. Mysterious French producer Crackboy was asked to do a remix of « Pulsar ». The soundscape gets hazier and druggier than in the original. Crackboy disjointed the well-oiled structures and made them sick and evil, but still extremely proficient on the dancefloor, especially when this mad, freeflowing 303 line gets fired up. Really good old mental stuff here.

Marble. #5. Marble All-Stars (or, as they called themselves - players) released new bomb..after his "Anthem". It's called "Marble Summer", and it's really hot. Direct speech, coz' I just can't write something right now.) 

« Let You Go » is just the bomb. A feeling from nineties hedonistic, horny French dance music is definitely on, complete with multiple vocals from the goddessess of joy, engaged in a dialogue with each other about what they’re gonna do after sunset. The bass has massive feel-good-feel-cool potential while the strings and keys are making the whole thing lightly deeper and briefly romantic. An exhilarating triumph of emotional confusion, miraculously enclosed in one single club hit.

« Paris is Burning » opens up with a sample from the eponymous classic documentary movie about NYC vogue scene in the late eighties. The track itself is all feverish pumping beats and in-your-face bass, infused with a vintage NYC Tenaglia/Vasquez dark, tribal feeling. Get ready Ibiza. Get ready Miami. Get ready, World.

« Wipe Out » is the summer riddim, a juvenile Riviera cousin of « Marble Anthem » or « Girly ». Glittering vocal bits and bittersweet organ chords switch to big deafening bass, hi-res dominatrix synths and punishing electrofunk beats. Just let yourself whip by the heat.

« Minute of Love » is just what it says except it’s actually three minutes and a half. It’s a midtempo house ballad featuring gliding keyboard washes, clavinova stabs and melancholy whistles, reactivating a long-lost summer rammed with hazy sex sensations and life-changing reflective lights. A soundtrack for the end of love – or for its very beginning.


 

Para One & Teki Latex - 5th Dimension EP (preview)

Second release from most interesting label of nowadays - Marble...EP from Para One & Teki Latex. "5th Dimension" with vocoder vocal, like in "Dinosaurs With Guns"...and much more interesting for me "Deep Sea Creatures". We have direct speech from Marble also:
« Deep Sea Creatures » starts by showing heavy respect for the classic Drexciya/Other People Place sound of the late 90s and early 00s : a dry, pedestrian beat complete with sinuous yet inflexible bassline and keys. A fine-tuned, self-sufficient aural world, in which Teki emits automatic thinking-based lyrics – images and sub-slogans matching the track’s robotic nature. Then things get twisted up : some warm melancholic light breaks in, half-timing the whole structure and decomposing its techno-pop proficiency. Loose-limbed and emotional, fizzing with micro accidents and tiny bits of harmonies, it has the patina of softcore electronica but the pace of a club hit, before shifting into a romantic breakdown. The main beat then steps back, looping the same cold serenity. A clean, mysterious electro hit.
« 5th Dimension » is a more hectic, tense affair. Based on a grime beat and dramatic keys, it features Teki’s vocoderized voice announcing obscure psychological commandments, coated in claustrated, pressurized sound. As in « Deep Sea Creatures », the middle part is a free zone, conjuring melodic ghosts and taking risky rythmic turns. And you even have an eerie 4/4, obsessive moment, with a vocal cut-up reminiscent of « Work Them ». This is both macho and unsecure, pneumatic and deflated. Parisian grime with a introspective, post-human touch.
